A few years ago some people deliberately set fire to the countryside in France. And a couple days after the fires were finally put out we drove through the area. I cannot describe in words the desolation and sadness that fell upon us as we looked upon mile after mile of charred earth and bare trees, standing mute testimony to the aberration of the human kind. And yet this lifelessness had a surreal beauty of its own which compelled me to take these photographs.
Paper is from Club Scrap. Journalling block is a stamped image. I singed the cardstock under the title. The metal corners - not sure who makes them. They were all the rage a few years ago!
