Women are not allowed to participate in beauty contests in Saudi Arabia. But they do have beauty pageants where the contestants are slightly different from what you would expect. They are camels and goats - and perhaps some other kinds of animals that I have yet to learn about. And here below is a Damascene goat, or Maaz Al Shami, named Qahr, which won the first prize for the "Most Beautiful Goat" title at the Mazayen al-Maaz competition in Riyadh June 13, 2008.
