Russian Communist snub Indiana Jones

The Russian Communists are not happy about being turned into villains again in this 2008 movie that is based in 1957 during the Cold War! They even want to stop the actors, who portrayed the Communists in such a degrading way, from ever visiting their country.

And now I cannot wait to see this film! Nothing like some good old controversy to make me run to the cinema ;-)

The latest Indiana Jones film is nothing more than crude anti-Soviet propaganda and its stars are the "running dogs of the CIA", say Russian communists.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is set in 1957 at the height of the Cold War, with Harrison Ford as a swashbuckling American archaeologist who races an evil KGB agent to find a skull endowed with mystical powers.

"What galls is how together with America we defeated Hitler, and how we sympathised when Bin Laden hit them," said Viktor Perov, a Communist Party member in St Petersburg. "But they go ahead and scare kids with communists. These people have no shame."

Andrei Gindos, another party member, decried Ford and Cate Blanchett, the Oscar winner who plays the KGB agent, as "second-rate actors, serving as the running dogs of the CIA". He added: "We need to deprive these people of the right to enter our country." (Telegraph)

Good. Cry all you want, commies. Your ideology is in the dark ages. It's a movie, it's fiction. Stop being such cave people and evolve.
